Our survival kits are modular in design with molle attachment systems. You can buy a fully kitted long term bag or start with some essential kits and build over time. We have carefully selected the contents of each kit based on real life preparedness and endurance. Our kits have Velcro patches which readily identify the contents. Of course, you can also attach them to the molle webbing on the bag or wear them on your belt.

- Water ( You can survive weeks without food, but only hours without water. It only takes a few hours once you become dehydrated to become disoriented which could be more than dangerous, it could be deadly.).
- Fire (Having fire is your second priority in the wilderness, yes even before shelter. It not only provides warmth, fire provides a means to boil water, cook food, and discourage wild animals.)
- Shelter (Even the most simple shelter can save your life in extreme weather conditions)
- Tools (You need some very basic tools to assist in constructing shelter, cutting fuel for fire, and orienting).
- Medical (Even minor cuts and scrapes can become infected and eventually lead to life threating circumstances)
- Fish (Although, you may forage and build traps or snares, one of the best sources of food will be fish).
- Hygiene (Simply said, lack of daily good hygiene can pose serious problems in the long term. Especially in the wilderness, good hygiene helps prevent infections from cuts, insect bites and helps improve overall morale.)
- Cook Kit (Provides a means to cook foraged items, make soup or stew, or boil water)
- Trauma (Life threating injuries must be treated immediately. Without a good trauma kit, you could die within hours if severely injured)
Look, if you find yourself in a situation where you need a survival kit, you need one you can depend on. Many of our competitors offer go-bags, survival bags, medical kits, and numerous models of each. Most are poorly outfitted with inferior or useless contents and are over-priced.
Let me give you an example. Most of the so called “Survival Kits” contain a magnesium rod or ferrous rod with a metal striker as the only means of starting a fire. Have you ever tried starting a fire in the wind and rain with one of these? First of all, most of the tender you could gather under these conditions would be wet. And even if you were able to find dry tender and locate in a sheltered place out of the wind and rain, while you are shaking from the wind, rain and cold, your patience would exhaust long before you could build a fire. I’m not kidding. If you doubt me, try it and you will be convinced you would probably die of hypothermia before you could start a fire.
Our Dragon Fire Kit contains a sealed container of Dragon Puff fire starters, red cedar sticks for dry tender, a disposable butane lighter, and a magnesium rod and striker for back-up. The Dragon Puffs will burn intensely for 8 to 9 minutes in the wind and rain, hot enough to light even damp tender. The red cedar sticks can be cut into shavings to help build a larger flame. The butane lighter is a much better alternative to ignite the fire starters, but just in case you run out of butane, there is the magnesium rod. Each element is easy to replenish when you need to order more. This is all packaged in a small molle EDC pouch and can be attached to a larger ruck or backpack. The most important item for your bag should be a water filter. While you can certainly boil water to make it safe for drinking, or use purification tablets, will you have the time? Will you have a steel container or something to use to hold the water over a fire? Purification tablets may kill bacteria, but what about protozo and other pathogens?
Our Dragon Water Kit contains a Sawyer water filter (the best in the world) and a collapsible water bottle with a carabiner. It also contains an aluminum cup with lid.
The Sawyer water filter will filter up to 5,000 gallons of water for safe drinking. You can attach the water bottle directly to the filter to collect the cleaned water from the filter and then attach it to your pack with the carabiner. The Dragon Lair Kit includes a durable rain poncho with a drawstring hood, side snaps and grommets at the corners so that it can be used to create a shelter, plus four 7" stainless steel tent stakes. Also included is an emergency bivy, a mylar emergency blanket, 15’ of 550 paracord and a couple of glow sticks for emergency light.
Our Dragon Tools Kit contains a quality tactical folding knife, knife sharpener, multi-tool, compass, a flashlight, mini roll of duct tape, two steel 2.38' caribiners, a spool of heavy duty thread and two sewing needles.
The Dragon Fish Kit contains an assortment of fishing hooks, sinkers, two red/white bobbers, artificial bait, 30’ of 40# test monofilament fishing line on a plastic spool and a yo-yo automatic reel. Just attach the yo-yo reel to a tree limb over a river, pond, or stream; unreel the line, attach hook, sinker and bait, set the trigger, cast the line into the water and wait for the fish to bite. The fish strike will trigger the reel and auto retract the line.
A key to extended survival scenario is hygiene. Our Dragon Care Kit provides comfort and cleaning items to make conditions a little more bearable. Our kit includes 5” comb, double blade razor, nail file, toothbrush, toothpaste, wet wipe, deodorant, shaving cream, body wash, shampoo, shower cap, compressed towels and soap.
The Dragon Cook Kit comes with two nested pots with folding handles in a mesh bag (for washing) and a metal spork (knife, spoon and fork) plus seasoning packets.
Our Dragon Aid Kits are large first aid kits that contain over 65 items including: assorted sized bandages, Zip wound closures, gauze pads, iodine swabs, alcohol pads, anti-bacterial cream, burn cream, stretch sterile tape (5 yards), Advil and Tylenol, safety pins, blood stop, hand sanitizer and emergency mylar blanket.
We also have prepared a Dragon Trauma Kit for more serious situations. It includes a military grade medical tourniquet, a permanent marker for recording the time the tourniquet was applied, blood stop, Israel bandage, Sterile compressed gauze, medical scissors, first aid tweezers, Zip wound closures, iodine swaps, non-adherent sterile gauze pads, flexible splint, and stretch sterile tape (5 yards).
Please understand that these medical supplies are not a substitute for immediate medical attention from a professional. Our contents may be helpful in preserving life, but you must know that if a wound is serious enough to need the application of a tourniquet, it is life threatening.
*Please also note that we decided to exclude a venom extraction kit due to a common misunderstanding about treatment of venomous snake bites. If you are bitten by a venomous snake, the CDC and Johns Hopkins recommend getting emergency medical help immediately:
- wash the bite with soap and water,
- keep the bitten area still and lower than the heart,
- cover the area with clean moist dressing to ease swelling,
- monitor breathing and heart rate,
- remove rings, watches and constrictive clothing in case of swelling,
- note the time of the bite with a marker at the bite site,
- Don’t apply a tourniquet, this actually causes more damage,
- Don’t try to extract the venom, especially by sucking with your mouth, this also leads to more damage,
- Don’t apply ice.
